The Community Benefit Program Specialist is responsible for the coordination of budget activities related to grants and sponsorships. Accountable activities include: data collection and tracking of hospital’s community benefit activities to support federal, state and local reporting requirements. The Community Benefit Coordinator tracks data and provides information to leadership to support timely updates to stakeholders and reporting requirements. Supports committees and work groups whose primary function is Community Benefit and Community Relations and in support of federal, state and local reporting requirements.



Bachelor’s degree required with an emphasis in Health Care, Public Administration or other related field. Master’s degree preferred.


  • Minimum of three years of experience within the healthcare, public administration or other related field.

  • Two years of experience in data management processes and project coordination.

  • Experience in successful collaboration with system leaders and professionals. Experience with financial spreadsheets and word processing software, and project tracking.

  • Experience with budget coordination and management.

  • Experience working with grant funding/tracking preferred.


Ability to build effective relationships and use positive, effective communication skills with colleagues of different levels across the organization.

Ability to understand and aggregate data from various sources.

Ability to prioritize multiple projects and to respond to rapidly changing priorities.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to resolve or mitigate problems.

Ability to track performance, anticipate and identify barriers, identify waste and gaps in efficiency, and facilitate quick changes in response to a changing internal or external environment.

Ability to interpret operating reports, general ledgers and system financial summaries (including balance sheets and summary statements).

Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft processing applications and computerized spreadsheets .

Advanced knowledge of and ability to create presentations (charts, graphs of data, etc.) utilizing computer software programs.

Ability to travel among Legacy operating units and to community partner locations, as determined by leadership.

Ability to function in a fast-paced environment working with many deadlines and performance goals that have significant financial implications.

Self-motivated and self-directed.
