Position Summary:

The Operations Specialist role is to actively pursue continuous improvement opportunities for the department and its partners. This position’s primary responsibility is the inventory review process, aimed at meeting customer fill rate expectations within the scope of our contractual agreements, within company processes and policy guidelines.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Include the following; other duties may be assigned)


  • Conduct inventory reviews per current process based on contract guidelines for the customer, providing recommendations to the sales team to improve customer’s fill rate and mitigate obsolete or slow-moving inventory

  • Monitor daily supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages, initiating actions when needed

  • Analyze customer & vendor lead time data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs

  • Coordinate cross functionally with purchasing, sales, warehouse and logistics teams

  • Contribute ideas for increasing efficiencies of existing operational processes and procedures

  • Propose strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of supply chain logistics

  • Assist with implementing, and actioning various projects in the department.

  • Provide support for FreshDesk customer service requests, pricing reviews and customer invoicing as needed

  • Be an ongoing learner while fostering that attitude and teaching of others daily

  • Act as the voice of the field to understand and relay feedback from the perspective of others across the departments, sharing knowledge of established process & procedures, elevating challenges, and submitting recommendations for new projects focused on continuous improvement

  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned



        Education and/or Experience: 

  • Business, Logistics, System Engineering, Data Analysis or Supply Chain experience preferred but not required

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.) from a 4-year college or University

  • 5 - 7 years' of related experience and/or training; or

  • Inventory management certification preferred

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience



  • Data analytics experience with strong attention to detail

  • Intermediate Excel & Outlook Skills

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and with little supervision

  • Must possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills

  • Must have the ability to set goals and meet deadlines

  • Must possess excellent customer service skills

  • Must demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and ability to get the job done correctly

  • Must possess a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution

  • Must have the ability to establish strong working relationships with co-workers and management

  • Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
