Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
This motivated/self-directed individual is responsible for all adhesive formulations and ensuring correct standard work in all plywood division plants. Individual will work closely with various parts of our adhesive systems including the development of formulations with outside vendors, developing/improving application methods, and insuring proper standard work by working with and teaching our manufacturing crews.
Individual is responsible for designing various tests and coordinating/implementing tests in 3rd party labs and CFP plants. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a solid working relationship with all 3rd party adhesive component suppliers. This individual will also be actively involved in various Corporate wide non adhesive related process improvement projects.
Examples of some activities:
Visit, audit and report out on each CFP plant adhesive process twice a year.
Ensure all plants are following prescribed gluing recipes and standard work
Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving process with any adhesive bonding issues
Follow up on customer feedback and provide support
Formulate, test, and standardize all adhesive recipes in CFP
Responsible for formulating and testing new advances in adhesive technologies
Work closely with all external adhesive suppliers and provide oversight
Support and be actively involved in the corporate innovation group
Maintain and provide SDS, TDS for all adhesive products
Look for opportunities to improve the quality of veneer used in plywood while reducing waste
Conduct educational classes (glue schools) for new management team members as well as refresher classes for all employees through continuous improvement
Coordinate outside resources: Universities/Colleges, independent resources with regards to adhesive technology
Facilitate durability testing for CFP as well as outside research
Help manage and track adhesive cost across the company
Support all safety policies for CFP by performing safety audits at each plant.
Support Corporate goals and objectives
Support new product development
Provide support for Inventory management
Ability to use Microsoft Teams application a plus
