Location: Old Fort, North Carolina





Job Description:

Monday- Friday 7am-3pm



GENERAL DUTIES


  • Understanding mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic drawings, diagrams, and blueprints.

  • Adhere to CFP (Columbia Forest Products) Core Values.

  • Install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools

  • Places a high priority on a timely response to capital projects.

  • Follows company policy and stays abreast of changes.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Maintains a clean and environmentally safe work area.

  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and records.

  • The ability to operate heavy equipment.

  • Maintain heavy equipment.

  • Communicating with management/supervision to keep the project aligned with their goals.

  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. Occasional exertions of 100lbs. of force.

  • Additional duties as assigned.







SAFETY

  • Assist in creating and maintaining a safe work environment. Works with others to identify, eliminate, reduce, or control safety hazards. LOTO and other plant specific training to keep ones self-safe must be done. Take steps to ensure that every job is safe and completed to the latest workplace, safety regulations, laws, and requirements. Faulty work can cause an injury.





QUALITY

  • Responsible for maintaining the quality workmanship and for ensuring that quality is taught to all team members. Responsibility for errors:




QUALIFICIATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Recommended degree in Engineering (Electrical and/or Mechanical) with at least 5 years' experience or the equivalent sufficient.

  • Proven abilities in fabricating.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Basic knowledge of the entire process for manufacturing hardwood plywood.

  • Detailed knowledge of process equipment.

  • Problem solve and engage with necessary staff/team leads to address emerging facility or equipment issues.

  • Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment.

  • Computer experience. (ERP system, excel, word, etc.)

  • Basic knowledge of wood species and production requirements.

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • General knowledge in repairs of machinery, installation, modification, and maintenance of plumbing fixtures in heating, water, and drainage systems.

  • General knowledge of maintenance/ground equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.

  • Ability to plan for projects, shutdowns, design changes knowledge.

  • Technical skills to include mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic.

  • Ability to work independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines.

  • Sound judgement and decision capabilities.

  • Work in a team environment.

  • Ability to overcome obstacles and have the organizational skills necessary to complete assignments in a timely manner.

  • Ability to be proactive in problem solving and to lead the resolution of potential gaps in the project process.
