This position is responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and supporting the firm’s Practice Support systems. The Systems Analyst will draw upon his/her problem solving, critical thinking and technical skills to analyze and resolve customer challenges, develop best practice methods, and ensure customer success. This is a customer facing role so excellent communication and people skills are required. In addition, a positive attitude, rigorous work habit, and professionalism in the workplace are a must as well as strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills. This is a Firmwide, full-time, exempt position resident in our Houston office.
Includes the maintenance and support but not limited to the following Practice Support Systems:
Liaison between Practice Support Customers and various system vendors.
Maintain and support MSSQL databases associated with Practice Support applications.
Create reports for Practice Support customers.
Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, escalating to vendors as appropriate.
Recognize patterns in reported incidents, diagnose underlying root causes and devise timely and effective resolutions as necessary.
Recommend improvements to achieve greater efficiency, functionality, and customer satisfaction.
Other duties as assigned.
Candidates should have a 4-year degree in Computer Science or related field, or at least two years’ experience working with MSSQL Server 2016 or later, including relational database design, creation of views, stored procedures, DTS programming, and SSRS reporting.
One- or two-years’ experience working in a support role supporting client/server MSSQL-based applications.
Strong work ethic, solid team-oriented skills, and works well in a fast-paced legal support environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Exposure to basic HTML and/or web development experience.
Experience with Python or similar development language.
Experience with REST APIs, data integrations between systems.
Experience with CPI or a similar intellectual property management system, electronic docketing systems, conference booking systems.
Experience with MS Access or conversions.
Experience with Cloud and Office 365 integrations
Experience with SharePoint Online, Microsoft Azure, PowerApps/Power Platform
Experience with maintaining or supporting other cloud applications

Within the Firm:
Meet with attorneys, paralegals, and other customers regarding practice support application requirements.
Must be able to routinely lift and carry file folders weighing up to 5-10 pounds.
Must be able to work at a computer for considerable periods of time.
Position requires extensive telephone use.
Must be able to lift, squat, kneel and bend.
Working conditions and environment
Work is normally performed in a standard office environment.
Position is full-time and requires a five-day workweek and standard hours as outlined in the firm policy manual. Additional hours, including weekend hours, are regularly required to meet established deadlines or stay current with occasional peaks in workload.
Unusual and extended work hours may be required.
Must be available after hours and on weekends when support is required.

This role may be hybrid and will require a minimum of three days per week (or at least 60%) present in the office, and up to two days per week (40%) may be performed remotely.
