Volunteers of America is looking for a Health Information Manager to facilitate the maintenance of the resident's medical record and role models the customer service expectation, organizes and coordinates unit activities to facilitate smooth, efficient unit operations.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversight of all Medical Records functions of the facility
Coordination of nursing unit administrative tasks
Coordinate resident appointments and transportation
Medical chart management

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of a HIM /HUC education program if applicable or LPN or completion of a medical transcription course preferred.
Prior experience as a Health Information Manager or Health Unit Coordinator in health care preferred.
Effective communicator with staff, families and outside agencies.
ICD10 Coding experience preferred
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and ability to prioritize duties.
Customer service oriented with knowledge of successful customer service technique.
Ability to understand residents' charts, doctor's orders, residents' plan of care, medication orders.
Ability to organize and maintain nursing unit order.
Attention to detail, follow through, good problem solving skills, ability to function under stress, ability to adapt easily to change in routine.
Ability to relate well with various personalities.
Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
