Job Description:

Summary:

This is an entry level apprentice position to the Test Technician II. Must be able to perform the following analytical duties in a reasonable and productive time frame.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of refrigeration and electrical components, their use, and the proper operation of those components.
  • Must be familiar with HVAC and dehumidification systems.
  • Must have knowledge of different refrigerant gasses (R-134, R407C, R410A, etc...)
  • Must have basic industrial electrical knowledge to trouble shoot HVAC or environmental control systems.
  • Must be willing to assist the Test Technician II.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Education/Experience:


  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience prior to advancing to the next level.
  • Ability to use all appropriate test equipment including, but not limited to, meters, refrigeration gauges, etc...
  • Ability to use all safe practices when dealing with electricity and pressurized systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • N/A
Language Skills:

  • Ability to speak effectively with employees of organization.
  • Ability to work from verbal and written instruction.
  • Ability to read and understand bills of material, piping and electrical schematics.
Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
