Materials Supervisor at Baltimore Aircoil Company

Job Description:

Major Areas of Accountability


  • Responsible for shipping of finished products.

  • Understands and promotes BAC vision and Culture.

  • Assists Operations Manager in coordinating bi-annual plant-wide physical inventory and verifies periodic inventory counts.

  • Supports production and assists in developing resource requirements based on sales forecasts and customer demands.

  • Implements production plans consistent with high customer service levels, low inventory investment, quality, and compatible manufacturing efficiencies.

  • Supervise the processing of all sales orders for the manufacturing environment, assigning schedule and shipment dates, loading departments, and providing shop documents necessary for production.

  • Supervise data processing function relating to all production/manufacturing activities.

  • Acts as a liaison between corporate Customer Service, Credit, Sales Representatives, Engineering, Supplies, and Customers to facilitate resolution of a wide range of issues to satisfy customer requirements.

  • Oversee intercompany transfers.

  • Oversee monthly plant material closing (month end).

Knowledge and Skill Required

  • Good working knowledge of business systems.

  • BS degree in Supply Chain, Business Mgt., etc. or minimum of 3 - 5 years’ work experience in materials management.

  • Good working knowledge of Excel - able to create basic spreadsheets.

  • Good understanding of Bill of Material structure and processes.

  • Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to change.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Quality orientation and high attention to detail.

  • Good organizational and planning skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Problem analysis and problem resolution skills.

  • Experience and product knowledge with construction of all BAC products.

  • Good understanding of Lean and Continuous Improvement.

This is primarily an Office Position with frequent requirements to be present in the factory.  When in the factory, the noise level is usually high and hearing protection is required.  Eye protection, hearing protection and safety shoes must be always worn.  Good plant safety practices will be required. Individual will be working in an environment that includes occasional exposure to the elements, inclement weather, and heights.
