Job Description:

Job Summary

This position receives and reviews closed loan packages for portfolio loans and is responsible for managing time-sensitive material and meeting deadlines.  The incumbent reconciles loan purchase advices and monitors for investor updates.  Responsible for receiving and clearing trailing loan documentation from Settlement and Title Agents 

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions


  • Reviews and verifies portfolio loan closing documents for accuracy and completeness. 

  • Registers closed loans with MERS.

  • Creates conditions for any corrections and/or documents needed and scans closing packages into the loan origination system.

  • Prepares and sends post-consummation Closing Disclosures as required.

  • Confers and consults with attorneys, branch office personnel and loan operations personnel on closed loans.

  • Sets alerts in file for follow-up of final documents, including but not limited to Recorded Security Instrument and Final Title Policy.

  • Receives trailing documents and verifies accuracy of the documents while managing a pipeline to ensure documents are received in a timely manner.

  • Corresponds with Settlement Agent offices to follow-up on outstanding final documentation.

  • Preps portfolio loans for permanent document retention.

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

Job Requirements

Education:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required:


  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, with the ability to learn other mortgage-related software programs.

  • Demonstrates the ability to analyze situations and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks and manage time wisely.

  • Customer service oriented, with focus on responsiveness to client issues and concerns.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, strong attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with all federal and state banking regulations pertaining to lending and consumer compliance, including fair lending laws.

Preferred:


  • 2+ years’ experience in a real estate law office or mortgage position.
