Who we are looking for

Enterprise Data Governance is a global team of experts focused on ensuring the data used in our firm is governed effectively.  This role focuses on two areas: Reporting and Insights and Data Stewardship.

Reporting and Insights

This role will focus on measurement of Enterprise Data Governance program progress, ongoing Data Governance initiatives including Data Strategy and Metadata Management firm-wide.  You will be responsible for soliciting reporting requirements from stakeholders and prioritizing development of reports.  You will be involved in creation of metrics and interactive visualizations allowing for insights and conclusions to be identified from data presented. Knowledge of data visualization best practices and ability to articulate findings from analysis to senior audiences clearly and concisely is important.  Interest in collaborating with fellow analysts to iteratively review and refine existing data sources and visualizations and reviewing Key Information data flows to identify opportunities for implementation of data governance best practices is also vital.  You will also engage in the creation of Ad-Hoc data sets in support of business unit stakeholders for regulatory use cases.

Data Stewardship

You will be an expert in completing Data Steward activities such as compiling definitions and documenting lineage for Data Governance applications. Oversight of internal data quality execution for data governance applications, ability to summarize results of data quality exception lifecycle to identify thematic trends and highlight additional quality checks for implementation and acting as a Data Management subject matter expert for the firm will be the focus of your day.

What you will be responsible for                

As Data Governance AVP you will:


  • Strong understanding of enterprise data management concepts, principles and practices including Database Structures, Enterprise Data Catalogs, and Operational Data Quality


  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries, Visualization/Business Intelligence tools (i.e. Oracle, Tableau)


  • Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities


  • Ability to understand data models, data taxonomy, and data quality industry best practices


  • Understanding of the Enterprise Data Governance Policy and Standards


  • Ability to articulate business requirements and bring them to fruition


  • Ability to Interact with Data Stewards of Varying Levels of Seniority While Communicating Clearly and Concisely

Education & Preferred Qualifications


  • BA and/or 5 years relevant experience in a data-related field


  • Understanding of the EDM Council DCAM model
