The Food Preparer is responsible for preparing food for customers and for cleaning and maintaining the store. The primary goals of the Food Preparer are 1) prepare delicious, consistent, well-presented food plates that will delight customers; 2) correctly and consistently prep and portion food items; 3) minimize food waste; and 4) keep an immaculately clean kitchen. This is a full-time non-exempt position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Maintains cleanliness of the dish area

  • Ensure that all health department regulations are followed and that the food preparation area is kept sanitary and safe

  • Clean, stock and maintain the store

  • Other duties as needed

Supervision Received and Exercised: Works under the general supervision of a General Manager and defer to the direction of the designated Shift Lead (usually the General Manager or one of the Senior Wine Associates) for day-to-day activities. No formal supervisory responsibilities.


Education and Experience Requirements: High School or Equivalent


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:



  • Highly responsible and reliable

  • Ability to communicate in English effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Able to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds

Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required.
