Project: Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Epidemiology Surveillance Capacity (Activity #1)
SUMMARY
The Nurse Manager will build and strengthen DPH’s capacity for healthcare infection control assessment and response, including DPH’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This position is grant-funded through April 2022.
This is a part time, non-benefitted position (20 hours per week).
Employment is provided by Heluna Health.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The duties of the Nurse Manager include, but are not limited to:
Establish relationships with healthcare facilities and organizations including acute care hospitals and skilled nursing facilities
Coordinate efforts with California Department of Public Health HAI Program
Assist in the investigation and control of COVID-19 infections
Contribute to the Los Angeles County HAI plan
Conduct healthcare assessments and address gaps
Design and conduct trainings for external and internal (DPH) audiences
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
A current certification in accordance with the American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with healthcare associated infections and disaster preparedness
Experience with the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN)
A minimum of five years of experience working in infection control
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent writing and verbal communication
Leadership experience
Ability to develop and implement education and training
Certificates/Licenses/Clearances
A valid California driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
