Job Description

We are currently seeking a PART TIMEProject Engineer to join ourStormwater Management Groupin ourVirginia Beach, Virginiaoffice location. We are looking for high energy, creative, flexible, patient, self-starters who are willing to work at a dynamic pace.

The successful candidate will work with the internal team and clients on drainage and flooding issues and coastal resiliency, BMP retrofits, and TMDL and MS4 programmatic requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesof a successful candidate include but are not limited to:


  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to investigate storm drainage issues and support stormwater management designs

  • Design drainage improvement projects, best management practices (BMPs); low impact development (LID) solutions; urban retrofit alternatives; and other stormwater and resilient infrastructure related projects

  • Conduct background research on technical issues and write clear reports and memorandums to convey project results to our clients

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates

  • Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as needed

Qualifications

Skills/Requirementsof a successful candidate include but are not limited to:


  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related degree

  • Familiarity with urban stormwater hydrology preferred

  • EIT required

  • Strong working knowledge of CADD and/or Civil 3D software is preferred

  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS preferred

  • Must be dependable, responsible and have good written/verbal communication skills

  • Must have a valid driver's license
