Social Media Specialists provide assistance to our online communities through our social media channels (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest) as an extension of the premier customer service provided to our stores. As a part of the Social Media Specialist team, you may be responsible for customer engagement initiatives, supporting customer facing applications, creative writing and content creation. You will play a key role in the assisting in building the Publix brand while providing outstanding customer service.
Additional responsibilities include:
Developing social media content for both owned/paid channels.
Creating unique social media content in collaboration with other internal development teams.
Writing copy for social media posts.
Writing articles for our Publix blog.
Reviewing, editing and proofreading a variety of content.
Project management including managing timelines and editorial calendars.
Building loyal communities on social platforms.
Promoting and protecting the Publix brand on social media channels.
Reviewing analytics and ideating improvement changes based on metrics.
Delivering premier customer service through our social media channels.
Assisting social media management team to strengthen our social media presence.
Associates Degree in Business Management, Public Relations, Mass Communication, Marketing, New Media, Journalism, or equivalent experience in any of these areas
at least two years in-depth, hands-on experience across multiple social media platforms
knowledge of different social media platforms, in terms of their functionality and their unique culture and etiquette
knowledge of best practices in the use of social media for creating loyal communities for brands
knowledge of Publix culture, business objectives, overall structure and relevant policies and processes
knowledge of crisis communications practices
strong communication skills. This includes exceptional writing and grammatical skills and a talent for composing engaging content for social media platforms
strong critical thinking skills to identify important trends and independently exercise sound judgment
demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and contribute strategic ideas
strong skills in technology, the ability to keep up with emerging technologies, learn quickly and teach others how to use them
ability to prioritize work demands amid time and resource constraints and conflicting priorities, and to respond with a sense of urgency
willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays to meet business needs
able to work effectively with a wide range of people
able to work effectively in a team
Bachelor’s Degree in any of these fields: Business Management, Public Relations, Mass Communication, Marketing, New Media, Journalism
at least four years’ experience in-depth, hands-on social media experience across multiple social media platforms
demonstrated success using social media to grow a loyal community
experience as a Social Media Specialist for a large organization
blogging experience
experience working for Publix or another retailer
substantial experience shopping at Publix stores
experience with social listening, content publishing, and engagement tools, and search engine optimization
fluent in Spanish
APR, ABC certifications or certifications in any of the following areas: Business Management, Mass Communication, Marketing, New Media, Journalism.
