Application Consultant

Job Responsibilities



  • Implements strategic goals established by functional leadership and provides measurable input into new products, processes, standards, and / or business plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall function results. Establishes business plans for discipline with short-to mid-term impact on results (e.g., 1 to 3 years)

  • Provides measurable input into new products, processes, standards, and / or business plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall function results. Works on complex issues and provides data and situational analysis and in depth evaluation of variable factors.

  • Develops client deliverables as documented in contract scope of work (i.e., project plan, current state assessment, readiness assessment, rollout roadmaps, final reports, with an expectation of a minimum threshold of 75% billable utilization.

  • Works with NextGen team members and client stakeholders in the pre-sale discovery phase to help identify client objectives and associated scope for consulting services, determine proposed scope of consulting engagements.

  • Assists sales and marketing teams to support product demonstrations, educational/informational sessions, and other client or public outreach efforts.

  • Communicates with senior stakeholders and with all levels of the client organization including C-suite, management, clinical staff, physician/provider staff, and information technology resources. within the enterprise on matters that require explanation, interpretation, and / or advising; typically has responsibility communicating to parties outside of the organization

  • Provide consultative advice, recommendations, solutions and suggestions for best practice processes, workflows and use of product functionality based on expertise utilizing software and real-world experience.

  • Provides training to client providers and staff as well as internal resources.


Education:
Required:


  • Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent, Field of Study: Computer science, Business Administration or related field

  • Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.



Expereince:
Required:


  • 5+ years of experience in health information systems




  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role or individual contributor role in a relevant discipline, i.e. Clinical practice, Rec Cycle Department, Pop Health, or working in a healthcare IT organization providing similar services/products.




Licenses/Certifications:

  • Clinical or industry credential, such as, RN, PA, RT, ARRT, RHIA, CRCP-I/CRCP-P, MA, RHIT, CPC, etc.

  • Change management leadership skills to assist client throughout consulting engagement.

  • Ability to use professional concepts to resolve complex issues

  • Understanding of the forces shaping healthcare delivery including but not limited to the HITECH and MACRA legislation and related programs and regulations.

  • Knowledge of Population Health, Analytics, Patient Centered Medical Home, Accountable Care Organizations, or other disciplines supporting healthcare reform desired.

Summary:
Responsible for assisting clients in meeting their organizational goals and objectives, Application Consultants work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Recognized as a subject matter experts in NextGen's software applications, workflows, and best practices, they provide support for process improvement, business/clinical transformation efforts, and other initiatives to NextGen clients. The Application Consultant researches and analyzes basic and complex issues surrounding the systems of a client's organization that will intersect with NextGen solutions and makes recommendations for improving processes, efficiency and practices of the client's business so they achieve the most value from NextGen systems.
