Housekeeping Section Supervisor-Circus Circus-Full Time-Day Shift (Reno) at Caesars Entertainment

Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES : Under direction of the Housekeeping managers, a ssist with the supervision and direction of the, GRA's and Houseperson's in your section. Assist the Executive Housekeeper, the Assistant Executive Housekeeper, and the Lead Houseperson's in the, supervising and training of the GRA's and Houseperson's in your section; acting in the best interest of the Executive Housekeeper and Silver Legacy.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Includes, but is not limited to the following)

  • Sign in and receive work assignments and room attendants' keys for the day.
  • Deliver daily assignments and keys to room attendants at the beginning of shift.
  • Assist with the training, organization and direction of all GRA's and housepersons. To include completion of work assignments on time.
  • Respond to calls and staff requests in a timely manner.
  • Handle guest complaints promptly.
  • Continuously inspect rooms for cleanliness, making sure standards are met, correcting deficiencies prior to the room being occupied. Inspect public areas in the hotel tower to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Clean biohazard material in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Continuously check linen and supply rooms, maid carts and all equipment used by GRA's, housepersons and shampoo persons. Ensure proper use of all equipment
  • Maintain check on linen consumption; housekeeping supplies, care of furniture and appearance of the building and fixtures.
  • Inspect all VIP rooms, making sure standards are met and extra amenities are in place.
  • Assist GRA's on rush rooms.
  • Work a shift as GRA when needed.
  • Assist in the recordkeeping, lost and found and administration of maintenance work orders.
  • Receive direction from Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Executive Housekeeper .
  • Attend all necessary meetings.
  • Understand and follow Orientation manual, Housekeeping manual and Emergency/Evacuation procedures.
  • Collect keys at the end of the shift.
  • Personal appearance standards are to be maintained at all times.
  • Any suspicious activities which may jeopardize the security of the hotel must be reported to your manager or the security department immediately.
  • Work additional hours on short notice as requested by supervisor, in order to accommodate one of the following: staffing emergency, employee absence, fluctuation in business levels, special projects, etc.
  • Learn and uphold the quality customer service standards of the Silver Legacy Resort at all times.
  • Regular, punctual and predictable attendance and ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, which is required.
  • Perform other job related duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Good organizational skills. Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and guests. Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English and Spanish. Self-motivated, detail oriented. Possess initiative, high energy level. Well groomed, good personal hygiene. Knowledge of chemical use, OSHA regulations, and Biohazard clean-up procedures.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Education : High school education or equivalent preferred.

    Experience : At least 1 year previous housekeeping experience required.

    Certificate/License : None required.

    TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS : Work may be performed in confined areas, which may be unusually warm, cold, or noisy, dimly lit or brightly illuminated. Work entails use of solvents/oils, electrical devices, and computer equipment. May come into contact with fumes/odors and dirt/dust. Work is done in high places and occasionally on slippery surfaces. Constant awareness is required of surrounding areas to insure safety of employees and guests. Constant contact with co-workers and guests.

    TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS : (May be required in order to perform the essential functions of the position). Position requires Team Member to enter & exit from the Team Member entrance which entails 4 flights of stairs (40 steps). Frequent standing, walking, bending over; repetitive use of both hands to include light and firm/strong grasping and finger dexterity, near/far visual acuity, depth perception, field of vision, accommodation and ability to see colors; occasional reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing and balancing; seldom requires sitting, pushing/pulling over 100 lbs., lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.,

    Requires simple reading writing and math skills, the ability to perform simple and complex tasks, clerical function, and coordination, analyze information, supervise and instruct others. Must be able to follow instructions, influence others, meet time requirements, memorization skills problem solve, use independent judgment and decision making skills.
