A Day in the Life
In this exciting role as a Software Engineering Manager you will have responsibility for a team of engineers building products for Surgical Innovations. MITG: The Minimally Invasive Therapies Group strives to enable earlier diagnosis, better treatment, faster complication-free recovery, and enhanced patient outcomes through less invasive surgical solutions. SURGICAL INNOVATIONS sets the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on obesity and diseases and conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall, pelvic region, and the head and neck.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Plans, directs and implements aspects of the company's design and development of new software systems.
  • Oversees the investigation and evaluation of technologies
  • Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release.
  • Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of meeting product requirements and specifications.
  • Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.
  • Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience leading software development teams
  • Software development and architecture experience
  • Working knowledge of software development best practices
  • Medical device development process experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Systems engineering experience
  • Experience driving new technology introductions in a medical device environment

Pay Range: $122,400 - $183,600
