Position Description

The Senior GIS Developer will be part of a GIS Development team using Esri's ArcGIS suite of products that provide business solutions through desktop and web mapping applications. This GIS ecosystem along with Salesforce.com and other fiber management tools is core to Zayo's architecture and fundamentally supports the company's overall business strategy. The ideal candidate will be passionate about GIS application, systems, and database development, and have a desire to work in a fast paced environment.

The Senior GIS Developer will be responsible for the development, configuration, management, and deployment of custom Esri applications, services, and data stores. Integration and management of geographic data and design of geographic databases may be required to build and operationalize applications. The individual will help to ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and partners. They will collaborate with team members to ensure a repeatable and ideally automated solution can be applied to future projects, and promote best practices, software, and tools to achieve desired results.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop and support software including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements to fulfill business requirements


  • Code in Python, ArcPy and Windows commands


  • Develop, configure, publish, and maintain ArcGIS Server REST services


  • Collaborate with developers and analysts in conceptualizing, developing, testing, and maintaining GIS solutions


  • Design, develop, propose, and build Esri geodatabase schema that can include dynamic field dependent attribution.


  • Create scripts to pull data between Systems of Record (Esri, GE Smallworld, Salesforce)


  • Maintain SDE Microsoft SQL Server databases (including versioned editing) and coordinate with IT Database Administrator


  • Oversee data automation, and the design and maintenance/scheduling of standard scripts related to data entry and updating.


  • Build new datasets and tables to enhance functionality of Esri applications and meet business needs.


  • Deploy, maintain, and upgrade Esri software for large user base; troubleshoot complex errors in Esri applications


  • Provide clear and frequent communication with the project manager on the status of project deliverables.


Experience


  • 8-10 Years of experience as a GIS Developer


  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, GIS, or related field


  • Knowledge of custom development beyond Esri's Web App Builder


  • Administration experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Web Adapter


  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Database


  • Ability to develop efficient data ETL processes and integrate system interfaces between GIS and other business systems


  • Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise High Availability and Disaster Recovery


  • Administration experience with Windows Server OS


  • Knowledge of building and designing Esri architecture solutions


  • Experience in Data Curation


  • Fluency in Python and SQL


  • Proficiency in JavaScript


Base salary in CO: $75,500 - $100,000.
