Kforce has an immediate need for a Senior Technical Project Manager for a 6-12 month + remote Contract to hire position. The client prefers candidates Local to the Richmond, VA area but will consider 100% remote candidates with a strong background in IT infrastructure project work and demonstrated experience in implementing Technical projects.
Summary:
The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for a wide spectrum of Infrastructure project work, with a major emphasis on efforts related to the development of next generation data center migration. This individual will apply IT principles, concepts, methods, and deliver high priority technology projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong domain expertise, project delivery experience and be able to thrive in a highly collaborative and fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities:
Technical Project Manager will assist in implementing leading-edge technologies to provide a highly reliable, scalable, and robust network infrastructure
Ensure that all Infrastructure projects have well defined objectives, resourcing, and milestones
Deliver thoughtful and comprehensive analysis on assigned topics
Maintain roadmaps, project plans and dashboards for the Infrastructure teams
Establish and manage communication channels with stakeholders and business partners regarding project delivery direction and changes
As a Technical Project Manager, you will align technology initiatives with individual business unit objectives; At a lower level of detail, facilitate the translation of business requirements into technical solutions
Develop a deep understanding of the current environment and work with the engineering teams.
Facilitate post implementation retrospectives and use the output to shape future planning
Develop and track plans related to data center strategy
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or closely related field and 10+ years of experience with technology organizations
5+ years of experience in project management
PMP or equivalent certification is required
Experience with large-scale data center facility design, strategy, and best practices; Specific experience in builds, consolidations and/or relocation
Holistic understanding of all data center functions with a working knowledge of server, storage, and network architectures
Hands on experience in executing projects in IT infrastructure buildouts and network enhancement areas; Converged server and storage infrastructure
Understanding of cloud-based networking technologies
WAN optimization technologies; Exposure to SDN and network virtualization technologies like NSX, Nutanix, HCI
Extensive project and program management experience with a proven track record in successfully leading large scale technology initiatives from a cross-functional perspective; Skilled in managing resource contention, stakeholder expectations, etc.
Familiarity with Agile SDLC principals and the underlying best practices related to change management
Ability to plan and deliver projects in a blended Agile and more traditional Waterfall development environments
Approaches decisions with an eye on minimizing operational risk
Ability to develop strong working relationships and build trust and respect with engineering teams
Leads teams to deliver upon small tasks and projects within the context of the bigger picture, strategic vision
