As an aesthetician at Hawaiian Experience Spa, your job is to make the spa's guests raving fans of the aesthetic's department. This is more than just providing a great facial from a technical standpoint, it involves doing everything that you can to make the guest's experience the best that it can be, each and every time she comes in. It also involves getting the guest excited about and purchasing the spa's aesthetic's line.

  • Be willing to work as part of a team

  • Be an effective communicator

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsibilities: In this position, you are responsible for providing excellent service, performing facials, body treatments (scrubs and wraps) and facial waxing. You are also responsible for getting guests excited about the products that we offer, so that they use them at home.

  • Scheduling: We value your time, so this position only requires you to be at the spa when you have appointments. You are responsible for checking your schedule online, prior to each shift and then we will call you with any updates. If you do not have appointments, you are free to do what you like, but you need to be available to come in within 45 minutes for an appointment.

  • Your Day: When you come in for an appointment, you will get your schedule and guests' files from the front desk, and then get your room setup. Once your guest arrives, you will get him from the lounge, consult with him and then perform an amazing treatment. After the treatment, you will check in with your guest, make appropriate product suggestions, write up detailed treatment notes and then restore your room to how it was when you got there.

  • Your Importance: In this position, you report directly to the spa manager. The spa only has one aesthetic's room, so you play a pivotal role in the success of the Aesthetic's department.

COVID-19 and Safety

Long before the current situation, Hawaiian Experience Spa’s number one concern has been the health and safety of our ‘ohana. Providing a positive work experience is one of our three key tenants and is shown in our Spirit of Aloha Commitment above. Some of standard our safety practices include:

  • The use of organic oils, lotions and other products to reduce your exposure to toxins.

  • Obtaining full name, address and other contact information for all guests before allowing them to get services.

  • Immediately and permanently banning from all of our spas any guest who acts inappropriate with a therapist. We have zero tolerance for this issue.

  • Always having a trained staff at the spa in addition to the therapists.

  • Making all therapists regular employees so you receive various protections under the law including workers compensation insurance for injuries, unemployment insurance, liability insurance and other protections not afforded to independent contractors.

  • Providing regular inspections of, and maintenance of, all tables and spa equipment.

  • Full disinfecting and cleaning protocols for all spa surfaces, equipment, sheets, etc.

  • Offering of health insurance, disability insurance and other benefits.

During this pandemic we have, of course, enhanced some of our safety measures by adding HEPA air purifiers to every treatment room and any other rooms without a high degree of air circulation, upgraded our the air filtration in our HVAC units well beyond the levels that are recommended by the CDC, increasing cleaning frequency, staggering appointments, maintain common area social distancing, giving therapists the option to wear masks, etc. While we cannot change the nature of the close physical contact inherent with our profession, and cannot eliminate all risks, we believe our ongoing safety protocols make for a safe and healthy work environment. Visit our Safety Page for more details.
