Job Summary:
The Senior Systems Administrator is an integral part of the eight person multifunctional team (inclusive of the Lead) of Junior and Senior System Administrators, Network Administrators in support of 1st Information Operations Command (Land), headquartered at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
SYSADMIN-specific tasks include Active Directory Operations; support ticket resolution; creation, maintenance, and enhancement of team processes and documentation; account management; Active Directory Windows Server functional support for GPO, DNS, DHCP, PKI, DFS and other domain relevant services; and issue resolution coordination with various technical and managerial stakeholders. Senior System Administration tasks include assisting the contract lead with contractual requirements; ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality submission of team inputs to contract and corporate deliverables; and supervising, training, and mentoring members of the contract team.
Responsibilities:
Works under the supervision of the HQI-C2IO 1st Information Operation Command Team Lead and in direct support of government and contractor staff
Applies broad technical skills to administer and monitor Enterprise Active Directory systems within a Windows Server 2016/2019 environment
Applies best practices and establishes procedures in order to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Active Directory systems and ensures compliance with security standards
Contributes to the development of documents and artifacts to facilitate traceability of work activities and problem resolution; produces, updates, and applies technical work instructions, standard operating procedures, and checklists to assure consistent, high-quality results
Responds to GPO, AD Sites and services, DNS, DHCP, PKI, DFS requests, troubleshooting and projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI at start date
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
2+ years’ experience
CompTIA Security+ Certification
MCSA Server 2016, or Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate (Must be obtained within 90 days of start date)
Working knowledge of MS Active Directory
Detail-oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks
Experience creating incident and after-action reports
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding problem-solving skills
Outstanding customer service skills
Consistent with Presidential Executive Order 14042, you must be able to meet all health requirements, including but not limited to, current and future vaccination requirements for infectious diseases such as COVID-19. The Executive Order generally requires that federal workers and federal contractor employees be fully vaccinated by January 4, 2022
Desired Qualifications:
Strong-problem solving skills
Experience recommending and implementing improvements for increased effectiveness
Knowledge and experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS) for systems and databases and applications.
Knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft PowerShell in a variety of applications
Experience with the administration and operation of Microsoft Exchange Server 2016
