Job Description

Position Purpose:  Position leads the Distribution WMS Operations team, including the talent development for up to 6 Kimberly-Clark resources and 3-4 contractor resources.  Team focuses on leading Customer Logistics Distribution projects and related initiatives to improve supply chain systems, processes and flows to reduce costs.  Provides strategic and tactical support for business plans and strategies. Provides operational support and project coordination to ensure the achievement of Distribution objectives. This role is currently focused on driving conformance to standard processes and improved productivity in high-volume CPG distribution centers across a twenty-site network in North America. 

Customers: Kimberly-Clark Business units, IT, KC Professional, Customer Logistics, third-party logistics providers, Planning, mill/plant personnel, Procurement, external customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership to the technical/system operations and processes for WPO (Blue Yonder Labor Management engineering standards), Yard Management, Direct Vendor Shipping and eComm Micro Fulfillment distribution centers



  • Provide training/support/work direction to 3PL WMS super users, coordinates WMS project activity and plays a key role in on-site constraint leadership/support



  • Lead development and implementation of transactional and operational distribution systems and processes in large CPG distribution centers and plant locations along with associated change management within large diverse teams.



  • Provide development, implementation, and updating of program strategies to drive new capability and continuous improvement to distribution centers and plants



  • Serve as key contact and functional expert for mills and third-party-operated Distribution Centers to assess materials handling and system and process problems, shortcomings and implementation of corrective action



  • Develop a scope and depth of knowledge in safety, quality, and materials handling technical expertise to investigate and drive continuous improvement and innovative solutions.



  • Support cost improvement programs to facilitate the achievement of Customer Logistics cost objectives.



  • Lead or participate in cross functional project teams made up of diverse team members ranging from senior leaders to machine or lift operators.



  • Create new tools or perform ad hoc analysis, as needed, to support various customer group needs.

    Basic Qualifications:





  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering or related field



  • Broad supply-chain systems and functional knowledge including supply chain, manufacturing operations, transportation, procurement and customer solutions



  • Working knowledge of SAP and warehouse management systems preferred



  • Knowledge of or willingness/ability to learn analytical tools such as: SQL, Tableau, Microsoft Access, and SAS



  • Ability to analyze complex data and identify root causes or areas of opportunity



  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially around complex topics



  • Enthusiasm for new challenges and an ability to take clear ownership of responsibilities



  • Ability to apply CI/Lean principles towards continuous improvement of a process



  • Ability to collaborate with and leverage diverse resources to achieve results



  • Travel varies up to 50% depending on project assignments
