Position Summary:
The Lead Engineer for this role will provide leadership for the Personal Care businesses as a capital project leader and support the transition of projects from development to commercialization. Candidates must have expertise across multiple manufacturing technologies with a preference for relevant plant experience and a demonstrated ability to effectively provide work direction to a broad range of team members. The incumbent reports to the R&E Manager responsible for capital execution and receives direction in the form of broad assignment objectives from the manager as well as from a platform and project leaders. Key customers include: Sector Management, Project Sponsors, R&E project teams, Capital Project Teams, Research & Engineering, contracted Technical Service Providers, BCC Product Supply, and Plant Operations, Maintenance and Engineering Teams.
 

Responsibilities:
1) Lead capital projects that vary in scope and cost from less than $1MM to over $10MM that include FOAKs, Expansion and Rollouts for Personal Care product, technology and process improvements.
2) Know and follow Project Management Practices and manage all projects to meet or exceed project success criteria and timing.

3) Proved subject matter expertise in one or more areas of the Project Management Practices and process used for capital project execution. Participate in the development of others within the area of the incumbent's expertise.
4) Develop and apply LEAN capability to support continuous improvement strategies and activities. Seek, recognize, define and solve problems to achieve unit objectives. Identify complex technical issues to determine root cause.
5) Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance and other personnel.

Qualifications:
1) Candidates must possess a bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering from an accredited College or University and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments. Candidates with an Associate, Bachelor, or advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline and possessing applicable experience may also be considered.
2) Strong experience in engineering design, EFS, EDR and capital project management is a plus. 

3) Broad knowledge of Personal Care equipment and processes with a demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into execution of major capital projects. Experience in capital project execution as a functional or engineering lead.
4) A demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve project results within required timeframes.

Preferred Qualifications:
1) 10+ years of experience in a variety of plant and staff assignments, including maintenance and operations.
2) Experience and expertise across multiple Personal Care manufacturing processes including Child Care, Baby Care, Adult Care, Fem Care and Wipes.
3) Experience and expertise with Kimberly-Clark Personal Care converting processes, procedures, and products.
4) Experience working with external technical service providers and suppliers.
5) Demonstrated continuing self-development.
