Job Description

The Sr. Associate Brand Manager role is a unique opportunity to work on one of Kimberly-Clark's leading brands, and is a key driver of K-C's future growth.

This role is a marketer accountable for in-year business planning and marketing execution for one of our iconic brands in the US.  This position leads key strategic initiatives for the brand, contributing to overall results delivery for the business.  The desired outcome is sustainable organic growth with a clear foundation of consumer insights, brand positioning and innovation and marketing plans that result in sales, profit, share and equity gain.  Key customers include sector and business unit management, product development, sales, supply chain, and marketing support teams.  This role reports into the Sr. Brand Manager and takes work direction from the Brand Manager.

Ideal Candidate / Accountabilities:


  • Skilled project manager with consistent track record of delivering against marketing project objectives, on time and on budget


  • Sets stretching goals for self, drives fact-based decisions, anticipates risks and self solves problems (conducting in-depth analysis to identify and solve problems)


  • Understands of business operations that make the business go, including consumption analysis and SKU management


  • Earns full trust from the leaders, peers, teams, and customers by always doing the right thing


  • Strong marketing execution skills including development of consumer-inspired marketing plans executed across traditional media, digital and retail channels.


  • Demonstrated experience in leveraging digital trends, tools and technology to resonate with consumers in digital channels.


  • Demonstrated ability transitioning facts into inspiring insights


  • Inspires and motivates the team (across functions) to achieve project goals with a general manager mindset


  • Generates commitment and raises performance among the cross functional team


  • Track record and mindset of improving own performance and performance of others with urgency


  • Strong understanding of customer activation skills across the Distribution, Pricing, Shelving, Merchandising and eCommerce levers. 


  • Passionate about driving brand growth by better meeting consumer needs


  • Integrates the key marketing levers including Marketing, Innovation, Digital, Revenue Growth Management


Working Conditions:

This role will be based at the K-C location in Chicago, IL, with travel approximately 10% of the work time.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Business related field; MBA preferred


  • 3 - 5 years previous business experience; brand management or digital marketing preferred


  • Previous marketing internship or full-time experience at a Fortune 500 CPG company


  • Familiarity with brand development planning, innovation, and creative ideation processes


  • Experience developing digital marketing strategy and activation plans to deliver effective personalization


  • Strong analytical knowledge with ability to drive to solutions  


  • Ability to influence and deliver compelling communication


  • Demonstrated positive energy to effectively represent brand internally and externally


  • Must be self-driven, not deadline driven


  • Experience working with cross-functional groups (e.g finance, sales, operations, planning)
