Job Description

The R&D team in the Genetic Perturbation Platform at the Broad Institute, led by Dr. John Doench (broad.io/doench), is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our group as a Postdoctoral Associate. Our group develops and pressure-tests the latest approaches in functional genomics, such as CRISPR technology, and then uses these tools to collaborate with researchers across many biological areas to discover the functions of genes and understand how gene dysfunction leads to disease. This position offers a unique opportunity to be a lead contributor to cutting-edge technology development with widespread impact across the Broad community and the world.

Characteristic duties:

• Development of innovate tools and approaches in functional genomics


• Large-scale genetic screens in mammalian cell culture with CRISPR-Cas9 technology


• Collaboration with scientists in the Broad community

Required skills:

• Should be a self-motivated and curious experimentalist


• Demonstrated ability to think creatively to solve problems


• Strong writing skills are particularly valued


• Outstanding organization and time management with attention to detail


• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
