Job Description
At CoBank, our Loan Servicing Specialist IV is responsible for the servicing and administration of a portfolio of complex syndicated, bilateral, and wholesale loans where CoBank may be the Administrative Agent, a syndicate lender, or a direct lender. Acts as the liaison and operational point of contact for borrowers, syndicate lenders, Farm Credit System partners, and internal CoBank departments. Identifies, analyzes and resolves issues, answers questions, and proactively identifies loan administration challenges and risks to support quality control. Works collaboratively with teammates and stakeholders to facilitate continuous process improvement by leveraging principles of Operational Excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs all loan servicing and administration activities in expected timeframes and according to documented policies and procedures.
Processes payment application, funds disbursement, and rate setting transactions in ACBS and notifies syndicate members and sold participations of transactions.
Books new borrowers, credit facilities, loans, letters of credit and fees in loan administration systems.
Completes ongoing customer, credit facility, and loan level maintenance.
Reviews, documents, and resolves items appearing on reconciliations and control reports.
Supports or leads non-processing tasks, initiatives, and projects.
Reads and interprets credit agreements as they relate to loan servicing and administration.
Cross trains on other department functions to ensure coverage during absences and periods of peak volume.
Monitors team's daily workflow and adjusts workloads as needed.
Provides constructive feedback and training on all Loan Administration functions, both behavioral and technical.
Serves as technical resource for team providing support and guidance for complex transactions.
Acts as positive change agent at the associate level, while demonstrating leadership support.
Provides subject matter expertise for their team's deal structure.
Serve as "Mission Critical Personnel" for business continuity and reduced staffing scenarios.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Five (5) or more years of experience, preferably in banking or financial services; or appropriate combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or relevant discipline preferred.
In-depth knowledge of loan administration system.
Advanced knowledge and experience with syndicated loan servicing as agent and/or investor.
Ability to solve problems, and identify when to escalate issues.
Ability to interact with and engage others appropriately at all levels in the organization.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent detail and customer service orientation.
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel).
Availability for occasional work outside normal business hours.
Compensation Information
Estimated Base Salary Range: $57,600-$75,000
Target short-term incentive opportunity: 9%
