Position Summary

Pharmacy Technicians are essential members of the pharmacy team at Maine Medical Center, providing support for multiple facets of the pharmacy, including providing exceptional customer service. The Pharmacy Technician I is an entry level position with zero to 12 months of pharmacy technician experience. The Pharmacy Technician I assists the pharmacist by preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory and pertinent patient records. Additionally, the Pharmacy Technician I will perform other related and assigned duties.

Typical Schedule: Monday through Friday 3:30pm - 12:00am

$1,500 Sign-on Bonus: The Sign-on Bonus is paid out in three payments; $250 within the first 30 days of employment, $250 at 6 months of employment, and $1,000 is paid out in the first pay period after 12 months of employment. Current MaineHealth employees are not eligible for the Sign-on Bonus. Former employees must be separated from the MaineHealth system for 3 months to be eligible.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. 
   Education: High school diploma or GED certificate preferred. Associates Degree is preferred.


2. 
   License/Certifications: PTCB certificate is preferred. Currently licensed as a pharmacy technician in the State of Maine or currently eligible consistent with the current State of Maine Board of Pharmacy requirements.


3. 
   Experience: N/A


4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.


5. Ability to assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of all patients.
