Job Description:

Basic Qualifications

Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills; demonstrated management and supervisory skills; strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills; a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all Company deposit and loan products and services; a working knowledge of Company operating policies and procedures; moderate computer skills; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; visual and auditory skills; valid driver's license.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years' experience in related banking and/or sales management position and two (2) years of supervisory experience OR successful completion of the Companys Management Training Program required.

General Responsibilities

Responsible for managing the Branch Office in order to meet the financial services needs of customers in the assigned community market area; supporting the Bank Secrecy Act; implementing strategies to achieve goals developed for the office; ensuring the office's compliance with operating policies, procedures, and outside regulatory requirements; directly supervising assigned personnel; actively identify, coach, develop, motivate and support employees to ensure superior internal and external customer service is being provided; providing periodic reports, may manage multiple offices.

Essential Duties


  1. Manages the Branch Office to meet the financial services needs of customers in the assigned community market area as follows:




    1. Works with Senior Leadership in establishing growth, sales, marketing, and profit objectives for their branch; provides input to these objectives and to the manner in which performance will be measured and controlled.






    1. Meets with customers regarding loan applications; follows-up with necessary documentation for determining acceptance of the application.






    1. Ensures that the branch office is properly staffed and that the staff is adequately trained with respect to product knowledge and sales/referral techniques.






    1. Ensures the office operations are performed within the guidelines of Company policies and procedures.






    1. Works with other departments to ensure the proper security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the office; supervises the opening and closing of the building and vault.






    1. In consultation with the Regional President and in alignment with Company initiatives, establishes specific sales and customer service goals for branch staff.






    1. Conducts weekly huddles covering updates on branch operations, sales, product knowledge, etc.






    1. Proactively partners with all lines of business to call on existing customers and new prospects within their market for additional sales and customer service opportunities.






    1. Seeks out opportunities for community involvement.




  1. Performs various duties to support the Bank Secrecy Act as follows:




    1. Monitors suspicious activity and reports such activity to the BSA department via the Notice of Suspicious Activity form on the Intranet site.






    1. Completes all CIP required documentation.






    1. Identifies customers by observance of acceptable IDs.






    1. Checks OFAC on new customers.




  1. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.


  1. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.; ensures that the department and all personnel adhere to the same.


  1. Directly supervises assigned personnel as follows:




    1. Assists in the selection of new personnel as appropriate.






    1. Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel.






    1. Reviews employee performance throughout the introductory period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter. Recommends salary increases; interviews potential employees; recommends employee discipline levels and/or discharge.






    1. Organizes, schedules, and distributes work among assigned personnel.






    1. Keeps personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the office and/or their jobs; creates an atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encouraged.






    1. Administers personnel policies and procedures as established by Company policy.




  1. Communicates with the Regional President, other branch managers, and appropriate staff personnel to integrate goals and activities.


  1. Provides periodic reports to Regional President and other groups as required throughout the Company.

Ancillary Duties


  1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.


  1. May become licensed to offer Property and Casualty Insurance and other financial services.
