THIS IS FOR 2ND SHIFT, MONDAY-THURSDAY, 3:00 P.M.-1:30 A.M., SOME OVERTIME FRIDAYS.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

To ensure all plant processing and facilities equipment are running at optimum efficiency on a daily basis.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES


  • Maintain and repair processing equipment.

  • Maintain and repair facilities equipment.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on processing and plant equipment.

  • Electrical troubleshooting.

  • Mechanical troubleshooting.

  • Communicate and document work performed.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned or asked of by management.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Excellent aptitude and demonstrated experience in the following trades required:

  • Mechanical repair;

  • Fundamental electrical 24V to 480V troubleshooting repair and installation;

  • Working knowledge of PLC's. Servo motors/drives, AC/DC variable speed frequency drives;

  • Mechanical troubleshooting;

  • Plumbing/pipefitting;

  • Welding and fabricating;

  • Machine tool;

  • Electrical troubleshooting; and

  • Facilities maintenance.

DECISION AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Must demonstrate Journeyman level competence in all of the above trade skills.

  • Manage and perform projects independently.

  • Mentor Maintenance Mechanic 1 levels.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

* License or certificates in any of the below trades is required.


  • Electrical installations, troubleshooting and repair 24V-480V.

  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.

  • Welding and fabrication.

  • Pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.

  • Machine tool.

  • Plumbing and pipefitting.

  • Facilities repair.

  • Experience in repair of high speed processing and paper converting equipment is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS


  • Will be required lift up to 10 pounds; may be required to lift up to approximately75 pounds.

  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Talk and hear over loud volumes.

  • Must be able to frequently stand, walk and sit.

  • Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.

  • Must be able to work in a noisy and dusty manufacturing environment.

  • Must be able to travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions.

  • Must be able to withstand both hot and cold atmosphere depending on weather conditions.
