Medline Industries, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Engineer in the Sterile Procedure Tray ("SPT") Division, located in Waukegan, IL. Under limited supervision, the Engineer will analyze existing processes and develop solutions to improve efficiencies and drive manufacturing cost reduction. This person will also manage capital projects related to building maintenance and manufacturing equipment procurement.
The responsibilities include:
Analyze, review, recommend and integrate technological solutions and innovative techniques to reduce manufacturing costs while maintaining or improving quality. Support departmental initiatives to improve manufacturing KPIs. Initiate, develop and manage capital projects.
Lead multiple concurrent projects from concept to realization involving individuals from multiple departments and disciplines. Apply best practices to project planning and execution to attain targeted deliverables on scope, timing and budget.
Execute assignments pertaining to quality, safety, equipment maintenance and validations as needed.
Develop expertise on manufacturing processes and procedures. Write functional requirements, develop test plans and work on production issues.
Perform project management functions. Plan, prioritize, allocate resources and solicit feedback from stakeholders and subject matter experts. Establish and maintain constructive working relationships and keep stakeholders informed of progress or status, addressing the underlying needs of the stakeholders. Provide all necessary training to employees on new or improved processes. Provide guidance and work hand in hand with Directors, Managers, Supervisors and hourly team members in order to execute the project plan successfully.
Write SQL queries and built reports from ERP tables to obtain project-specific data.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
Relevant Work Experience
At least 4 years of engineering experience. Project Management. Experience engaging and leading cross functional teams in problem-solving activities. Application of Lean methodology.
Additional
Intermediate MS Office skills. Experience with SQL and MS Access tables, queries and reports.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Master's degree in an Engineering discipline.
Certification/Licensure
Continuous improvement or Lean training is a plus.
Relevant Work Experience
ERP systems knowledge and experience.
