TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ROP), is seeking a Software QA Engineer to join our team in Plano, Texas.
Job Summary: The Software QA Engineer will be responsible for testing software for reliability, creating test scripts, assist with developing test plans, and ensure defects are properly identified, tracked, and documented.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manual QA Testing
Develop, execute, and maintain software test plans and test cases
Log bugs/issues via an issue tracking tool, and help determine priority of reported bugs
Work with customers to create preliminary requirements documents
Work with software development team to run through requirements and develop user stories
Work directly with customers to troubleshoot software issues and improve software
Aid with and perform software integration and configuration tasks
SQL database queries
Create and maintain Power BI reports
Create and update training documentation
Create and update software documentation
Perform software training
Maintenance BOS support
Handle special projects or other duties as may be required from time to time.
Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in in Computer Science or Engineering and/or equivalent proven work experience
Required Skills & Experience:
Maintains a professional image and adheres to standards consistent with company policies and procedures.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in software Quality Assurance, software test engineering or software development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to perform in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with branch, regional and corporate personnel.
Experience in Agile – SCRUM, Dev Ops environment
Knowledge of Software QA best practices and methodologies.
Experience with communication tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Skype, etc.
Expert proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, OneNote, and Google Docs.
Desired Skills:
Experience in Tolling industry a plus
Jira experience a plus
