Position Overview:
The Payroll Tax Specialist will be a key contributor to the Human Capital Management group and assist in tax payments, tax registrations and quarterly tax filings. In this role you will work directly with clients and vendors to resolve tax notices, and/or any tax agency communication. You will be responsible for proactively creating and documenting tax procedures, processes and communications to ensure that all tax responsibilities are completed accurately and within applicable deadlines.
Responsibilities:

Researches and adheres to all tax law changes
Schedule tax payments to agencies
Completes client periodic, quarterly, and year-end tax filings
Electronic filing of W2s
Responds to agency inquiries or notices
Assists in the resolution of client tax issues and questions
Complete client tax registrations
Process W2C and amended returns
Constant communication with clients and staff concerning tax law changes
Creates and documents tax processes
Works with others within the department to ensure compliance
Assists Implementation team with new client tax issues
Assists in vendor management as it concerns payroll tax related issues

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting
2+ years similar experience in payroll industry
Knowledge of payroll software systems
Knowledge of payroll processing in multiple states
Experience in quarterly and year end filing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask and handle several implementations at the same time
Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
Excellent organizational skills; with high quality standards
Analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to convey knowledge and train others
General accounting knowledge
PC literate: basic software applications: Word, Excel, Internet, etc.
