THIS IS FOR FIRST SHIFT. MONDAY-THURSDAY, SOME OVERTIME ON FRIDAYS. 5:00 A.M.-3:30 P.M.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Act as part of a team to ensure the daily operations of the facility are running at optimum efficiency. Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. Performance of building maintenance tasks in carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:


  • Maintain and repair all equipment in the facility.

  • Ensure facility is maintained in a safe and clean atmosphere.

  • Electrical troubleshooting; preventative maintenance; TPM; troubleshooting equipment failure, design and fabrication of equipment upgrades.

  • Experience with troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment including PLC controls, 3-phase power and motor speed controls.

  • Perform other work related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  1. High school education or equivalent.

  2. 5-10 years of working experience in facilities maintenance.

  3. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.

  4. Proficient in basic maintenance skills dealing with troubleshooting, design and fabrication in disciplines involving electrical, pneumatics, pipe fitting, metal working, welding, etc.

  5. Assist with modification of existing equipment and installation of new production equipment as well as upkeep of the manufacturing facility equipment.

  6. Able to troubleshoot automated equipment.

  7. Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented.

  8. Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task.

DECISIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  2. Able to schedule production needs with other responsibilities.

  3. Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form.

  4. Capable to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  5. Mechanical ability.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  1. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance as needed.

  2. Motor skills and manual dexterity to safely operate hand tools and power tools.

  3. Use of measuring instruments, read electronic and mechanical gauges, and machine set up devices.

WORKING CONDITIONS:


  1. Must be able to work in a manufacturing warehouse environment of up to 500,000 square feet.

  2. Must be able to work in noisy, dusty areas to include moving in and around closely spaced pallets and other work products.

  3. Must be able to withstand both hot and cold atmospheres depending on weather conditions working without temperature control; may be for extended periods of time.

  4. Must comply with safety precautions and wear appropriate PPE when required.

  5. Must adhere to company safety regulations in all areas of the facility.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:


  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  2. Experience in a manufacturing environment that includes at least two of the following: Electrical, pneumatics, pipe fitting, metal working, plumbing, welding, basic machining, carpentry, painting, and/r heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
