Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Systems Engineering team at ACT in Santa Barbara, CA is responsible for supporting complex projects across Arthrex. We are searching for a Co-op pursuing an engineering degree to support the Systems Engineering team at ACT. The intern shall help with a new shaver project that is near the end of prototyping and about to enter Verification & Validation (V&V).  Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™.

 

 

This position will run from May 2022 - August 2022. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 30- 40 full-time hours per week at our Santa Barbara Arthrex California Technology location.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assisting with final prototype testing by

  • Coordinating with tech leads and test engineering  

  • Creating traceability from design inputs to tests.  

  • Ensuring proper documentation is captured in Agile  

  • Helping refine acceptance criteria for tests 

  • Defining distribution flow of material & manage product sample distribution  

Education and Experience:


  • Progress towards a college degree in Engineering Preferred.(Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

 

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:


  • Intermediate to Expert computer skills

  • Be able to follow written and verbal direction

  • PowerPoint applications proficiency a plus

  • Organized, detail oriented, strong written and verbal communication, and basic understanding of medical device lifecycle

 

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; High proficiency with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner
