Position Overview
Market Development Analysts collect and analyze data to evaluate existing and potential clients, markets, products and business opportunities and provide technical support for the promotion and sale of concrete products. In this role, the analyst will be responsible to effectively utilize internal and association reports to estimate market growth and trends affecting growth. Works closely with Sales Teams to maintain a current database of competitor information, an assessment of competitor strengths and weaknesses, and provide technical support.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, continuous improvement, safety, and environmental stewardship to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and critical success.
Complies with all safety policies, procedures, and established safe practices
Prepare reports on findings while illustrating data with graphs and translating complex results into written texts that are clear and understandable
Conduct analysis and provide reports to management with competitive benchmarking
Devise and assess procedures and methods for data collection
Gather information on competitors, and conduct analysis on their sales, prices and methods of distribution and marketing to thoroughly learn about the competition
Conduct research regarding marketing strategies and consumer opinions while collaborating with finance, sales, and marketing professionals
Track and forecast trends in sales and marketing, and analyze in detail the data collected to provide management with thorough reports and results
Collect and analyze data regarding customers and their preferences, segmentation, buying habits and needs to better identify market potential and factors influencing product demand
Attend staff conferences to provide management with proposals and information on the distribution, promotion, pricing and design of products and services
Provide technical assistance to customers with cement and concrete related problems and quality control parameters (i.e. mix design enhancements).
Promote and protect cement and concrete products through high profile participation in industry association and specification committees as well as other related organizations.
Take a leadership role in targeting internal cement quality improvements regarding customer needs.
Manage special projects regarding technical aspects of product development to assist marketing efforts.
Manage technical activities for specific territories.
Act as a mentor and provide training and support to other organizational personnel.
Assist Sales in promotion of new and regular SAC products with engineering advice and technical sales presentations and related efforts.
Perform investigation of customer technical complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered condition of cement products. Assist in negotiating settlement of claims, for which company is responsible, within limits prescribed by management.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Management, Sales, Marketing, Client Services, or equivalent training or experience.
Master's Degree (Preferred)
