Senior Cost Accountant
The responsibilities and duties of the Senior Cost Accountant will include the following:
Financial close processes and audits related to inventory, cost of sales and manufacturing variances.
Variance analysis and performance trends/reports on Inventory, Purchase Price, DL Productivity and Overhead Volume & Spending.
Works closely with Manufacturing Management to explain and manage manufacturing variances vs. budget.
Leads and controls maintenance of the Standard Cost system, including Materials Costs, Direct Labor rates & Overhead rates.
Oversees the cost quoting process, ensuring proper rates and assumptions are used for pricing.
Leads manufacturing budget process, developing annual Direct Labor rates and Overhead rates and costs.
Prepares monthly financial forecasts for manufacturing variances.
Provides analytical support to top management in order to enhance decision making processes.
Provides financial support in the development of capital request payback analysis and cost savings projects.
Oversees Physical Inventories and Inventory Reserves for Obsolescence and Full Absorption Valuation.
Coordinates cost reduction initiatives.
Desired Skills & Experience: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment Strong analytical and problem solving skills Team player with proven management experience Experience with integrated manufacturing systems; preferably BPCS Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel Able to manage multiple priorities
