Interventional Radiology (IR) is a procedural specialty in which various imaging technologies are utilized to perform minimally invasive procedures. The Interventional Radiology RN will join an IR team that is primarily responsible for the pre-, intra- and post-procedural care of these patients, including delivering moderate sedation. The IR team includes the Interventional Radiologists, IR techs, nurses and an IR PA, all of whom work in tandem and with fluidity.

Responsibilities include “on call” shifts during non-operational hours of the lab to provide coverage for urgent/emergent cases. During rotations as the IR Charge Nurse, responsibilities will include coordinating the daily procedural schedule and supervision of unit activities and non-RN personnel.

Shift: four 10-hour day shifts per week; shifts rotate between 7a-5p & 8a-6p; rotational on call; on call shifts 5pm-7am. When called in, the expectation is that RN arrives to Stamford Hospital within 30 minutes of call.
