We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Pharmacy Cashier who, under direct supervision, provides excellent customer service while being responsible for cashier operations and functions, including accurately receiving payments by credit card, check, cash, voucher or other approved payments. Issues receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers. Assists in the receipt, inventory, storage, distribution and ordering of supplies and product for sale. Answers phones and routes as needed. Gathers customer information needed to fill prescriptions. Assist customers with pick up of prescriptions. Stock over-the-counter shelves and apply pricing on goods for sale .Process pharmacy invoices and orders product for the retail pharmacy. Serve as a liaison for the Financial Services Office and assist with bank deposit process and miscellaneous accounting functions. Performs inventory reconciliations. Assist with reporting as needed. Working knowledge of general office software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Familiarity with and ability to apply basic accounting principles and critical thinking. Working knowledge of HIPAA, medical coding (CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding), insurance fling, medical terminology, and payment processing.


Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

High school diploma and 3 years of clerical accounting or bookkeeping experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a healthcare environment and direct customer service. Experience using medical office software to include electronic health records/billing system. Working knowledge of general office software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Familiarity with and ability to apply basic accounting principles and critical thinking. Working knowledge of HIPAA, medical coding (CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding), insurance filing, medical terminology, and payment processing.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting, auditing and bookkeeping especially in a healthcare setting. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff and customers. Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations. Ability to perform prescribed analyses of financial records. Ability to communicate effectively. Adheres to the strictest of confidentiality standards including but not limited to HIPAA, FERPA (etc.)
