Global Brand & Product Development Manager - Alterna

Global Brand Marketing at Alterna Haircare is looking to expand its team to include a Brand & Product Development Manager to support global initiatives. This position will play a key role in creating and bringing to life Alterna's ambitious innovation pipeline, clean beauty evolution and luxury aesthetics. This person will also be involved from the ground up in the creation of an exciting and entirely new luxury sustainable sub-brand. She/he will collaborate with many departments to lead the strategy and development of new product & service launches and their in-market success. This role is also critical in supporting Alterna's global expansion plan, working with internal & regional partners to support strategy, testing, customization & launch success.

YOUR ROLE

• Drive innovation in all fields of product creation, from new product initiation to completion of production for all new product launches, as well as reformulations.
• Establish innovative R&D ingredients & packaging platforms through active research of new technologies, active ingredients, sustainable packaging and competitive analysis to provide supporting data & differentiation for new product concepts.
• Lead new product conceptualization and development through a deep awareness of trends, consumer feedback, social listening, CRM data and competitor activity.
• Support the global expansion of the brand and help identify needs, work with partners to rework formulas and artworks for local compliance.
• Support internal and external lab work with R&D to guide development process and drive progress when required.
• Lead product & competitive testing to ensure high quality, superior performance, and unique product offering.
• Peer leadership and collaboration among cross functional partners (R&D, creative, operations, legal, regulatory/ toxicology, international/export and integrated marketing)
• Manage and oversee all marketing materials as it relates to new products and launches including managing the copy approvals process, ensuring legal requirements are met
• Determine COG targets, make recommendations on pricing strategy, and create forecasts

YOUR SKILLS

• 3-5 years' experience working on new product launches that have been executed on a global level
• Beauty industry global experience necessary.
• Strong technical knowledge of ingredient, formula, and packaging development.
• Experience with trend & competitive analysis, concept development & presentations.
• Experience with product testing and evaluation.
• Knowledge of regulatory and testing guidelines.
• BA/BS major in business, marketing preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills are a must, as is the ability to build and develop internal and external relationships.
• Collaboration & influencing skills a definite advantage.
• High proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking and project planning skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to gather and analyze information to develop fact-based recommendations.
• Detail oriented and extremely organized.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines.
