Staff Nurse (Temporary, full-time)

Job Summary:

The staff nurse provides a broad spectrum of nursing services to students including, testing, assessment, triage, treatment of medical conditions typically found in a young adult population, administration of vaccines, referral to medical providers and counselors as appropriate. The staff nurse coordinates the care of student patients and confidentially consults with other students, faculty, staff and administrators. In addition, the staff nurse may provide educational information and outreach to students, faculty and staff. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Health Services and Dean of Health and Wellness.


Minimum Qualifications:

RN clinical experience (preferably in a college or university setting; emergency room or critical care experience also preferred); Well-developed clinical and diagnostic skills; Proven capability of providing highest standard of health care to a diverse clientele; Knowledge of and commitment to the application of the highest standards of legal and ethical principles; Knowledge of college student health issues and college student development; Experience in written and electronic forms of data collection and management; Well-developed written and oral communication skills; Demonstrate commitment to undergraduate, liberal arts education; to an environment of diversity and inclusion; and to the mission, values and vision of the Division of Student Affairs. Participate actively in departmental and Division of Student Affairs meetings, committees, activities, projects, and professional development opportunities.


Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred experience working with college students; Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
