The Program

Our full time 2022 Summer Internship Program is a paid ten-week experience (June 6th-August 12th) based across three of our corporate offices - Plano, TX, Atlanta, GA and New York City, NY (our Sales Acceleration intern will sit in Plano, TX). These offices house the majority of our Sponsorship Sales Support staff. This includes Integrated Marketing, Digital Solutions, Research, Sales Analytics, National Sales, Human Resources, etc. Each member of the program will be assigned to a specific team for the duration of the summer. You will be responsible for certain tasks your manager will assign you, and you will also be responsible for a summer-long, comprehensive project. The results of your project will be presented to your team, fellow interns, and members of LEARFIELD leadership at the end of the summer. As a Summer Intern, you will also be provided opportunities for personal and professional development through an Executive Speaker Series and Professional Development Series. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about LEARFIELD through a visit to one of our campus properties in the area as well as cross-departmental interactions during the summer.

Our Sales Acceleration team's purpose is to help increase profitability by developing data-informed strategies, sharing best practices, improving/enforcing Live365 system (our CRM) adoption, and supporting the organization with timely, accurate, high-quality services, constant communication, and integrity. The department is made up of 4 teams: Inventory & Pricing, Sales Analytics, Sales Operations, and Technology. Collectively we are the Live365 Experts for our Sales team to leverage. Our Sales Acceleration team harnesses the power of data, applying analytics, and using technology to accelerate sponsorship sales revenue by developing pricing strategies, implementing revenue management operations and procedures, and instituting best practices in yield management. This includes creating actionable insights and understanding, through the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data.

Key Internship Responsibilities:

  • Assistance with creation of reporting around property sponsorship value and analysis, ROI metrics, end of year recaps, and prospecting.
  • Advance the efforts of our third-party pricing study with established rate card baselines.
  • Perform various quantitative analyses & drive data insights in a timely, accurate, & consistent manner.
  • Accommodate ad hoc analysis & reporting requesting for various internal and external customers.
  • Assist Quality Control on inventory requests and questions
  • Collaborate with manager and teammates to complete assigned daily/weekly tasks.
  • Bring a creative outside perspective to the tasks/projects you are working on.
  • Attend all Summer Intern related events throughout the ten-week period.
  • Proactively communicate with various departments in the corporate office as well as other LEARFIELD partners throughout the country.
  • Leverage the internship to learn all aspects of the Sports Marketing industry.


  • Advanced Excel skills, working knowledge of Tableau, SQL (a huge plus)
  • Critical and strategic thinker
  • Someone who can take initiative/work independently
  • Intellectually curious; not afraid to ask questions and a willingness to jump in with both feet
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Highly organized; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once
  • Show up each day with a positive, upbeat attitude
  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree
  • Completed coursework to be identified as a Junior with a Graduation date of December 2022 or later OR entering into second year of masters program with Graduation date of December 2022 or later
  • Ability to start work on Monday, June 6th and secure housing for the full ten weeks
