Job Summary

As Payroll & Compensation Analyst, under limited supervision, responsibilities will be split between the payroll and compensation functions. Responsible for administering bi-weekly payroll through the company's HRIS System, validating benefits vendor files and data feeds that flow through to payroll. Manage unemployment documentation, cobra administration, and one-time payments. Assists with market pricing jobs, auditing job descriptions, creating job taxonomies, families, and helping to build long term structures.

Work involves performing difficult and complex services requiring a high level of independent judgment, initiative and discretion. Work is mainly self-directed, with work results reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

  • On a bi-weekly basis prepareand validate payroll runswith an emphasis on accuracy, detailsand timeliness

  • Investigate employee questions and inquiries aboutpayroll, taxes,and deduction related items

  • In coordination with the benefits analyst processes disability claims (follows up with employee, completes Employer paperwork, answers questions,monitor time coding,etc.)

  • Administer various leave banks (PTO, FML, Child-Bonding, etc.)

  • Administer garnishmentsandvoluntary court deductions; includingensuring payments are made timely to the appropriate agency

  • Track and administer the tuition reimbursementand relocationprograms

  • Ability to perform basic accounting functions (reconciliations,journal entries, forecasting, etc.)

  • Administer year-end bonus payments, one-time payments,and off-cycle checks

  • Responsible for biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reporting

  • Special projects or other duties as assigned

  • Assist Manager withmarket pricing job families, job descriptionsand job taxonomies

  • Assist Manager withday-to-day operations and administration for the employees in the Company 401K planincludingmaintains all appropriate records, reports and files related to 401K administration

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

Associate degreefrom an accredited college in Human Resources, Business or a related field is minimally required.Position requires at least 2 years of experience working ina payroll department; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other QualificationsPreferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred,with a concentration in business, accounting, mathematics, or economics

  • Experience with ADP

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of personnel policies, practices, procedures,andlaws

  • Knowledge of employee benefits concepts andabilityto rely upon experience and judgment to plan and accomplish work tasks and long-termgoals

  • Knowledge ofbasic accounting

  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and intranet/internet research and database management(ADP)

  • Ability to efficiently handle competing priorities and tasks, remain organized and meet deadlines

  • Ability to establish and maintain confidential and effective working relationships with supervisor, coworkers, management and internal and external customers

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with a welcoming, cooperative and supportive demeanor

  • Ability to function within a matrix organization in which functional and business leaders have equal authority within the organization and employees report to both a functional leader and a business leader

  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with both a functional and business leader, who collaborate on employee issues and decisions (including performance management, compensation and development)
