This is what you will do:

This position will be responsible for supporting and in some instances leading project efforts and initiatives in support of the organization, with close collaboration and partnership with the People & Culture community. This position will be a key point of contact for assisting the organization on core HR processes, through general coaching of managers and employees through those processes (example: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation planning, talent management and development). This role will influence the employee experience at Alexion since it is often the first-line with general employees and the moments that matter to them.

You will be responsible for:

  • Advises and coaches managers on all aspects of Core HR processes including: recruiting and selection, performance management and development, talent management, compensation, HR policies, etc.
  • Provide ongoing support to Leaders and the business on any people related matters, policies or procedures
  • Establish and develop pro-active communication channels between functional leadership, HR and Finance
  • Manage the data / metrics and position needs in close collaboration with P&C community, HR Executive Partners, Finance and HR Central.
  • Partners with HR colleagues: Total Rewards, Talent, HR Central, Employee Experience as initiatives are deployed
  • Participate and drive special projects and initiatives between the business and HR (ex. growth and development projects, manager training, etc. that are function specific)
  • Assists the business with creation and storage of jobs descriptions and working with Total Rewards to determine appropriate job code and market data and communicate leveling to managers and assist with job requisitions where needed.
  • Support management with new employee on-boarding process and assimilation
  • Support key programs like Employee training programs, internship programs, new hire orientation, expansion initiatives and reorganizations
  • Project/Program Management activities for various HR initiatives including performance management, promotion processes, compensation programs, rewards and recognition programs
  • Review requests for new positions, staffing changes and reallocations from the business and update SuccessFactors as needed. Communicate these changes to Finance to maintain alignment.
  • Develop and deliver end to end process results for data reconciliation including headcount data and other changes in appropriate system
  • Provide recruiting and headcount results and data by function via reporting and slides
  • Prepare HR reports as requested
  • Conduct exit interviews and aggregate data and escalate findings to Compliance or Employee Relations as needed
  • Work with P&C Lead and function on year end calibration and compensation planning
  • Liaison between People & Culture and Legal on documentation for position elimination and other involuntary leaves

You will need to have:
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in pharmaceutical and change-oriented environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; strong presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to work effectively across organizations
  • Strong ability to build working relationships
  • Ability to coordinate multiple and changing priorities
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Experience with Success Factors, Kronos, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook, Visio, Microsoft Project, Org Plus, Service Now
  • Comfortable with complexity, ambiguity and change
  • Experience with position management
  • BS in Human Resources, Psychology or related discipline.
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

We would prefer for you to have:
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
