GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:



The mission of the Neurological Clinical Research Institute (NCRI) is to accelerate translational research in neurological disorders through initiating and testing novel therapies by custom-designing research protocols, by bringing efficacy strategies and infrastructure to clinical research and implementing observational and interventional clinical trials. To empower the NCRI on its mission, and to capture and manage information from clinical research, the Systems group of the NCRI develops, maintains, and deploys software platforms and programs. Working independently under minimal supervision of the Director of Center for Innovation and Bioinformatics of the NCRI, the Senior Systems Analyst will:


  • Lead data analyses, data integration and data representation projects performed by the NCRI

  • Lead development of project specific data capture systems

  • Collaborate with sponsors and NCRI personnel on development of project specific functional requirements specifications

  • Provide second tier support to the NCRI personnel in using systems and platforms deployed at the NCRI and department of Neurology

  • Work with business stakeholders to develop specifications requirements for new software systems and modules

  • Lead systems' change requests processes for clinical trials systems

  • Document best practices on system development and serve as an in-house expert.

The NCRI is looking for a motivated team player with the ability to provide a high level of services while working on multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent project management and communication skills, as well as being able to work independently, take initiative and prioritize tasks is required.



PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



General Duties:


  • Lead data analyses, data integration and data representation projects performed by the NCRI

  • Lead development of project specific data capture systems

  • Collaborate with sponsors and NCRI personnel on development of project specific functional requirements specifications

  • Provide second tier support to the NCRI personnel in using systems and platforms deployed at the NCRI and department of Neurology

  • Work with business stakeholders to develop specifications requirements for new software systems and modules

  • Lead systems' change requests processes for clinical trials systems

  • Document best practices on system development and serve as an in-house expert.

  • Responsible for assigned development projects at the NCRI



  • Responsible for the System Change Request processes including analyses, review, programming, validation, installation and documentation according to SOPs and regulatory requirements

  • Represent Systems group at project-specific meetings.

  • Triage, address and support reported issues that may arise from software platforms' utilization and plan their resolution

  • Develop specifications requirements for new software systems and modules for the department of Neurology and the NCRI

  • Mentor, advise and oversee daily data integration efforts

  • Apply data management principles in clinical research and work seamlessly with data managers to ensure data quality

  • Apply principles of Good Clinical Practice as well as relevant FDA and international regulatory agencies' rules related to clinical research, and advise study team members on appropriate implementation

  • Supervisory duties:

    • Lead ad hoc project-specific teams

    • Develop and implement training programs for end-user

    • Oversee user-reported issues for the System

    • Mentor and train junior employees



  • Accepts responsibilities for special projects as requested.






Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:





  • Bachelor's degree required. A concentration in Information Technology, Biology, or related coursework is preferred

  • Minimum of four years of relevant experience is required, including experience with computer systems and customer support

  • Hands-on experience with clinical trials systems is required. Knowledge of PharmaENGINE™ system is a plus

  • Working knowledge of database programming including MS SQL Server, is a must

  • Knowledge of MS Access, MS Excel, or SAS® is desirable

  • Understanding of clinical trial design, data management, and compliance with federal regulations issues is highly desirable

  • Experience with business analyses and user training is essential.

  • Ability to integrate with NCRI culture and "can-do" mindset - eager to deliver high quality results

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadline pressures. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively

  • Excellent judgment and ability to interpret information and business requirements

  • Fluency with computers and working knowledge of database design and programming is a must

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment and be a project leader on multiple projects

  • Ability to follow a structured approach to problem solving and have an understanding of analytical and quantitative methods

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver presentations

  • Demonstrated knowledge of data management concepts, the principles of Good Clinical Practice and relevant FDA guidelines and ability to implement these appropriately

  • Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills, able to work well with range of people

  • Professional, service-oriented, proactive, and flexible




WORKING CONDITIONS:



The position will be primarily remote, with the expectation of 5-20% hybrid flex time in office as needed.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:



May lead/manage team members within the scope/time of a project.
