Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Prepares pipe and plumbing fixtures for installation, replacement and repair
by threading, measuring and shaping; performs tasks to prepare work area
by disassembling old systems and cutting holes in walls and floors for
pipes to pass.
Plans installations by reading blueprints and schematics; estimates
material requirements, costs, orders from designated personnel; request
administrative permit for installation; test equipment for approval by
government inspector upon completion of installation.
Performs pressure tests on piping and gas lines to insure proper function.
Solders and caulks leaks and broken piping and gas lines to insure proper
o Installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures
to maintain the heating, water, and gas and drainage systems throughout
the hospital facilities.
o Keeps and maintains shift logs as required.
o Works in a neat, professional and safe manner recognizing the safety and
health of themselves and other employees and patients.
o Is aware of "Emergency Policies and Procedures" as outlined in the
"Maintenance Policy and Procedure Manual".
o Performs other related duties as required.

Walking, standing, lifting, pulling, climbing.
Requires a Journeyman's Plumbers License. Trade or vocational school with
vactional school graduate with courses in plumbing and blueprint reading.
Familiarity with Massachusetts State plumbing codes and ordinances.
