Under the supervision of his/her supervisor, the Part Time BFT Inventory Coordinator is responsible for placing orders through computer systems, inventory control, and stocking utensil in the health center staff lounge. Maintenance includes replacing oxygen tanks and recharging batteries on hospital equipment.



PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



• Responsible for Purchasing, Material Management, Inventory Control, and delivering Stationary and Medical Supplies for the Health Center. Develop and maintain inventory control systems necessary for efficient utilization of health center supplies. Maintain proper levels of supplies to meet expected demand. Fill orders weekly for all departments. Research through vendors and purchasing availability and price for new supplies at the request of personnel.


• Check packing slips and merchandise against purchase orders. Determine merchandise not delivered and secure ETA delivery date. Arrange for the return of incorrect or damaged merchandise.


• Liaison with health center users of supplies, as well as purchasing personnel and vendor representatives. Resolve operational problems/issues that arise as they pertain to inventory. Liaison with Biomedical Engineering and outside vendors.


• Responsible for minor repairs on medical equipment.


• Coordinates the set-up of conference/function/meeting rooms to meet the specific needs (configuration) of the activity taking place to include furnishings.


• Supports encourages and participates in the MGH recycling program guidelines



Qualifications

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:



Requires good verbal communication skills to interact with patients, visitors & staff, often under stressful situations.


Requires some skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

EDUCATION:


High School Diploma preferred


EXPERIENCE:


Entry level expierence. One year in healthcare material inventory experience preferred.



WORKING CONDITIONS:



Mostly indoor work in a fast-paced hospital environment, some outdoor work possible, possible exposure to hazardous materials
