The Anesthesia Technician is a trained member of the anesthesia/surgery team with knowledge of anesthesia equipment and supplies. He/She, under direct supervision, is responsible for assisting the CRNAI Anesthesiologist, pre, intra, and postoperatively with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The technician is responsible for transport, patient care, materials management, and environmental responsibilities as assigned. The Anesthesia Technician is expected to respond to extreme emergencies arising in anesthesia and operating room situations. Must be able to get along well with and execute orders from doctors. Respond to nurses and peers under all conditions without adding to the stress of critical situations.



Qualifications

Requires strong organizational skills,and strong interpersonal skills, . Basic computer skills which may be obtained thru on the job training. Anesthesia Technician must complete a six-month to one-year, full-time training period before they are able to perform independently or take emergency call.


CPR, EKG, and Phlebotomy certification required within three months of hire.


Strongly prefer healthcare experience or background.


Prior Anesthesia Technician experience preferred.


High school graduate preferred or Course work in a biological science program.
