Under the general supervision of the Chief of Police and Security, this position will report to the Operations Manager. Responsible for installing, servicing and maintaining all components of the Integrated Security System, including, but not limited to, electronic security panels, filed devices such as door hardware, card readers and contacts, and closed circuit television cameras.
Job Specific Responsibilies:
Assist the Security Low voltage Lead Technician with all new security systems installations and system expansions as well as other duties as needed.
Ensures compliance with all applicable standards and code requirements. Ensure compliance with all MGB Infection control Guidelines.
Assists with Installation, programming, troubleshooting, servicing, maintaining and repairing electronic security access control, alarm monitoring panels and Low Voltage power supplies.
Must be able to interface with auto door hold backs and other hospital systems.
Experience with AMAG access control systems is preferred.
Install, troubleshoot, service, maintain and repair Integrated Security System field devices, including, but not limited to, Proximity Card Readers, door position switches, magnetic locks, electric strikes, electric lock sets, chexit device exit devices, Voice Video Intercom/Remote Release devices, emergency (panic button) alarms and silent alarm switches.
Install, troubleshoot, service, maintain and repair conventional analog fixed and PTZ cameras, IP based video encoders, IP based fixed and PTZ cameras and VMS recording servers and storage arrays.
The candidate should have experience with digital video management systems with a strong preference for Symmetry (AMAG) and Completeview.
Install, troubleshoot, service, maintain and repair physical hardware related to Stanley Infant Protection System
(HUGS), including, but not limited to Local Area Receivers, Excitors and Repeaters and its integration with the Integrated Security System, including CCTV and Access Control systems not covered under the Vendor service contract.
Collaborate with Plant operations and vendors to conduct annual fire door testing as required.
In collaboration with Information Systems, Clinical Engineering, Telecommunications and Project Management, assists with evaluation, repair and installation of various types of low voltage systems (nurse call, public address, analog/data, etc.)
Collaborate with the Plant operations, Project Management and Information service team to assist with installations of Low voltage cable pulls.
Assist Security department with Monthly Panic Alarm testing.
Travel to offsite locations.
Other duties as assigned.
Available on an as needed basis.
Required: 2+ years of experience in a similar role working with Access control systems, Automatic doors and physical door hardware and low voltage systems
Preferred: Knowledge of Completeview, Symmetry (AMAG) and HUGS software and systems.
High School Education, GED or equivalent or vocational school.
Licensure/Certification or Registration:
Preferred: Certification of cabling system(s) installation. Current Driver's License
