A Pharmaceutical Company is seeking an Research Associate /Sr. Research Associate, Discovery Research in Lexington, MA.


Role Description


• In-life operations: rodent dosing, sampling, and tissue collection.
• Generation, analysis, and interpretation of molecular assay data using advanced methodologies (quantitative imaging, qPCR, plate-based assays, enzymatic readouts, FACS, in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry) with rigorous scientific standards in accordance with internal SOPs and troubleshooting as necessary.
• Careful documentation practices, i.e., maintenance of electronic laboratory notebooks and generation of study reports is essential for this role.
• The successful candidate will assemble impactful data packages and will have the opportunity to deliver data presentations at departmental and company-wide meetings.
• Participating in shaping our overall research strategy and supporting numerous projects as a member of the Discovery Research team.
• Collaborating cross-functionally to promote efficient operations in a high-volume on-site laboratory and animal care facility.


Skills & Requirements


• BS/MS in Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
• 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience in an appropriate industrial or academic environment (Title and comp based on experience level)
• Experience in downstream bioassays including one or more of the following: qPCR, ELISA/Western blot, in situ and IHC, FACS, molecular imaging
• Practical knowledge in basic biochemical and molecular biology principles including RNAi theory/practice, nucleic acid detection technologies and related methodologies
• Preferred: Experience in rodent pharmacology including dosing and necropsy; familiarly with PK/PD concepts
• Commitment to careful and thorough technical documentation, including electronic laboratory notebooks and study reports
• Strong organizational, IT and communication skills; ability to interact effectively on multidisciplinary teams and participate in our dynamic company culture
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
