Job Description:

Job Summary


Handles to conclusion non-complex claims involving some or all: first-party Personal Injury Protection (PIP), Medical Pay, collision, loss-of-use, third-party property damage and third-party bodily injury exposures up to $5,000. In cases where complexity of file increases beyond proficiency level, file is escalated to next level for handling. Handles claims in multiple states. May take First Notice of Loss (FNOL) calls.



Essential Functions / Principal Responsibilities


Assigned as owning adjuster when injury exposure is identified for first-party medical benefits and any associated non-complex suffix.


Resolves claims within authority level.


May handle income continuation and essential services suffixes, and may handle liability investigations to determine the at-fault party and apply comparative negligence or issue denial of third-party property damage claims.


Advises customer on coverages and benefit levels, explains the claim process and collects required information.


Researches to determine coverage eligibility for applicant(s) according to policy conditions.

Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends


Preferred:


Negotiating skills



Education, Work Experience, Licenses & Certifications


Required:


BA/BS in business, insurance or related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience


Ability to obtain license in required states


Preferred:


1-2 years of claims experience


Bilingual a plus
